On this very festive occasion, we celebrated Women In Consulting’s 20th anniversary! We’ve come a long way from the original group of women who started the organization, led by Eileen LaPorte, founder and first president of Women In Consulting.
Today, Women In Consulting has hundreds of members and supporters, an active community of Basic, Standard, Premier, and Executive Members, satellites in the East Bay, Peninsula and South Bay, and a regular calendar of events that delivers best-in-class business advice and education on a wide spectrum of topics. Women In Consulting hosts an active email community that provides a forum where members collaborate, ask questions, get advice and find valuable business resources.
So, we raise a glass and toast the founding of Women In Consulting and those women who had the vision to make this vibrant organization thrive, and all of us who continue to carry forward the generosity and focus that help each of us move towards success in our businesses.
Happy Anniversary, Women In Consulting ~ you’ve been a powerful influence in consulting and in hundreds of women’s lives. Cheers!
Event Highlights
Greeted with goody bags thanks to the generosity of our event sponsors, guests had the opportunity to decorate a special memento of the evening, embellish themselves with gems, boas, and crowns, took memorable photos, and treated themselves to dinner and a dessert buffet.
Event Host
With many thanks to our event hosts, Roberta Kiphuth and Detati Digital Marketing, who opened up their recording studio so that guests were able to record their own stories with an on-the-spot video setup.
Silent Auction
And, no gala would be complete without a Silent Auction! At this year’s Silent Auction, we raised funds not only for Women In Consulting, but also our favorite nonprofit to support Second Harvest Food Bank. We also introduced fun new ways to engage with the silent auction – including bidding online and on mobile phones!

Special Guest: Patricia Fripp
Our guest speaker was Patricia Fripp, a Hall of Fame speaker and presentation skills expert.
Kiplinger’s Personal Finance wrote, “One of the best investments you can make in your career is to learn presentation skills from Patricia Fripp.” As Patricia always says, “Nobody can resist a story well-told.”
In her interactive session Patricia taught us about the three foolproof story formulas that help increase profits, where to find your best stories that will be easy to tell, and advanced and little-known presentation techniques to make you a pro.
