The WIC Leaders Network

Currently we have one group (our pilot) that has been meeting for roughly 2 years that consists of 7 members. Membership in that group is diverse – we have solo practitioners, thought leaders, and larger consulting-based businesses. We are now expanding the membership of this group and starting new groups.

Leader Network members are chosen (based on various criteria that speak to their well-established businesses) to participate in a small, group meetings on a quarterly basis for several hours in the evening over dinner.

What happens in these meetings?

• Camaraderie among members who are struggling with complex business issues relating to their growth and/or productivity goals.
• Roundtable discussion where members present specific current business challenges to the group then sit back and learn, gain fresh perspective and brainstorm.
• Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who are invited to participate in a discussion where members can solicit specific information and advice from the expert. We emphasize that this is not a traditional meeting speaker, rather someone who interacts with the group in a lively discussion on topics of importance to the group.

Criteria for Membership

We ask that applicants meet 7 of the 9 criteria – and all of those in boldface.

• Baseline Income Requirements
  • Solo Practitioner: $250,000/year
  • Organization: $500,000/year
• Complex business model (requires more than an hourly contract to close a deal and operate).
• Working in current business model 2+ Years
• Working with a number of projects/clients (as opposed to reliance on 1-3)
• Business owner or P&L/General Management responsibility
• Sales interface at client C-Level
• High-growth goals (strong revenue growth interests)
• 10+ Years of business experience (prefer minimum 5 years consulting)
• High-productivity goals

Members invited to join the Leaders Network agree to the following guidelines:

• Confidentiality—Of course, confidentiality is a given. What happens in the Leaders Network meetings stays in the meetings (even if they are not in Las Vegas).

• Competition—Direct competitors will only be invited into a Leaders Network group with the approval of the current member that they compete with.

• Continuity—It is important to the members that there is an ongoing continuity in understanding of each others’ businesses and challenges. Therefore, you will need to attend a minimum of 2 out of 4 meetings a year to remain a member of the Leaders Network.

• Contribution—Members of the Leaders Network not only help each other but to also give back to the greater WIC community in tangible ways including attending monthly meetings, serving on panels during the year, writing articles for the WIC newsletter, and providing mentorship through our normal networking.

Membership Dues

For accepted candidates, Leaders Network dues are $450/year and include:

• 4 quarterly Leaders Network meetings
• Free attendance at 11 monthly meetings
• Discounts on satellite meetings and workshops
• All other WIC membership benefits

WIC Members who've already paid their regular membership dues will have their Leaders Network dues prorated based on their anniversay date.

Terms of Membership

• Membership is for one full year. You will receive a notice to renew 30 days before your anniversary date.
• Memberships are not transferrable.
• No refunds on membership dues once payment is made.
